Proposed changes to national priorities for centrally-funded Professional Learning and Development (PLD)

Overview

We warmly invite you to complete this survey to gather your feedback about the proposed national priorities for Professional Learning and Development (PLD) that is centrally-funded. These priorities are for PLD that is locally-allocated by regional panels.

Following consultation and endorsement from groups across the education sector, we are seeking your feedback on the proposed PLD priorities. Your feedback will help us report back to the Minister about the changes needed to the national PLD priorities.

The current national PLD priorities are:

  • Pāngarau and maths
  • Pūtaiao and science
  • Te reo matatini (pānui, tuhituhi, kōrero), reading and writing
  • Digital fluency. 

The proposed national PLD priorities in (English medium) are: 

  • Cultural capability
  • Local curriculum design
  • Using information to support learning

All survey responses are confidential and anonymous.

Depending on the length of your responses, the survey should take between five to ten minutes to complete and closes 10 May 2019.

Once consultation is complete, a summary of results will be posted on the Curriculum, Progress and Achievement page of the Education Conversation | Kōrero Mātauranga website. 

Completing the survey

  • The survey presents each priority and the capabilities that the priority is designed to develop and strengthen and then includes a series of statements for you to respond to.
  • You are asked to respond to each statement based on a 5-point scale (strongly agree, agree, no opinion, disagree, strongly disagree).
  • Space is also provided at the end of each section for further feedback.
