Closed 19 Jul 2024

Opened 21 Jun 2024

Overview

In collaboration with the Terrace End School Board, Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | The Ministry of Education has developed a proposed enrolment scheme for Terrace End School.

The purpose of an enrolment scheme of a State school is:

  • to avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, at the school; and
  • to ensure the selection of applicants for enrolment at the school is carried out in a fair and transparent manner; and
  • to enable the Secretary to make the best use of existing networks of State schools.

The proposed scheme would become effective for enrolment in 2025. A copy of the proposed scheme is available below.

Why your views matter

As part of this process we are formally consulting with whānau, hāpu, iwi, and with all people living in the area for which the school is a reasonably convenient school. Please note, the enrolment scheme could affect which school a student will be entitled to enrol in.

What happens next

Please provide any comments about the proposed Terrace End School enrolment scheme that you would like to be included in the final report.

Once all submissions have been collated, we will work with the Terrace End School Board to make amendments deemed appropriate to address any concerns.

We will respond to each of the submissions in writing.
