Video transcript for Leadership Advisor roles video explainer from Ministry of Education on Vimeo. Kia ora. The Tomorrow’s Schools review identified our education system needs to improve outcomes for our young people in Aotearoa.   It highlighted that we need to do more for learners that are undeserved by the system. We know that having the time to focus on leading teaching and learning is the most crucial factor for our school and kura leaders to improve outcomes for ākonga and learners. We need to create a team comprised of highly skilled, trusted professionals who can provide a timely, responsive, and localised support for our school leaders. That’s why we are creating new Leadership Advisor roles to ensure the best possible outcomes for our tamariki and rangatahi in Aotearoa. These Leadership Adviser roles will be carefully developed in close collaboration with the education sector over the coming months, so your feedback is going to be crucial in this process. All the Leadership Advisor roles across both the English Medium and Māori Medium settings will be designed in partnership with the sector. We are looking for people with mana - highly trusted professionals with the knowledge, expertise, and educational experience needed to provide timely support and advice. Whilst we are still shaping up these roles, we would expect the Leadership Advisers to play a key role in sharing effective practice across the system to achieve equity and excellence. They will support collaborative networks such as clusters of schools or Kāhui Ako and encourage and support innovative approaches to teaching and learning. The roles may change over time, reflecting the services the sector wants to receive from Te Mahau so your input in shaping and designing these roles is crucial. The 21 new leadership advisor roles will be based in the regions in Te Tai Raro, Te Tai Whenua, and Te Tai Runga. The new roles will start at the beginning of the 2023 school year. And Don't forget to complete the Leadership Advisor Survey.
