Overview
In collaboration with the School Board, The Ministry of Education has developed a proposed amendment to the enrolment scheme for Thornbury School under Schedule 20 of the Education and Training Act 2020.
A key part of an enrolment scheme is the home zone. We are proposing the following amendments to the home zone of Thornbury School. The proposed description and map are available below:
- updating the home zone to land parcels
- extension to east to include Fairfax-Isla Bank Road to Isla Bank-Flints Bush Road
- extension to the east to include Frazer Road to Waimatuku Flat Road
- reduction of the zone to remove Pourakino Valley Road
It’s important that we hear and understand community perspectives before we implement this amendment at Thornbury School – especially the geographical, social and practical implications of the home zone.
Please send your feedback on proposed amendments to OtagoSouthland.EnrolmentSchemes@education.govt.nz by 23 November 2021.
