Overview

In collaboration with the Dunedin Rudolf Steiner School Board, The Ministry of Education has developed a proposed amendment to the enrolment scheme of Dunedin Rudolf Steiner under Schedule 20 of the Education and Training Act 2020. The amendment relates to the design of the enrolment categories and priorities.

The enrolment scheme is to assist the Board to manage a situation where there is more demand for enrolments than there are places available within the maximum roll, provide a fair and transparent process for enrolment and to ensure we are making the best use of schooling facilities across the network of local schools.

If overcrowding occurs or is likely to occur at a State school or, in the case of a State Integrated school, more applicants for enrolment than there are places available, the Ministry of Education must establish a new or amend the existing enrolment scheme for the school.

It’s important that we hear and understand community perspectives before we amend the enrolment scheme at Dunedin Rudolf Steiner School – especially the design of the enrolment categories and priorities.  Please have a look at the proposed changes before you participate in the consultation process.

Please send your feedback on the proposed amendments to otagosouthland.EnrolmentSchemes@education.govt.nz by 8 April 2022
