The Ministry of Education has completed consultation on the proposed amendments to the enrolment scheme for Rimu School.  All consultation feedback was considered by the Ministry, the proposed amended enrolment scheme has been approved without any changes.

Overview

In collaboration with the School Board, The Ministry of Education has developed a proposed amendment to the enrolment scheme for Rimu School under Schedule 20 of the Education and Training Act 2020.

A key part of an enrolment scheme is the home zone. We are proposing the following amendments to the home zone of Rimu School.  The proposed description and map are available below.

  • align the boundaries of Tisbury and Rimu Schools enrolment schemes. This will result in the following overlaps areas;
    • Mason Road east of Seaward Bush Reserve to Kennington Waimatua Road
    • Orr Road east to Tapper Road including Blondell Road.
    • 2 areas along Longbush South Road 
  • extension to the east to the boundary of the TEZ

It’s important that we hear and understand community perspectives before we implement this amendment at Rimu School – especially the geographical, social and practical implications of the home zone.
