Overview

In collaboration with the Tawhiti School Board, Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | The Ministry of Education has developed a proposed enrolment scheme for Tawhiti School

The purpose of an enrolment scheme of a State school is:

  • to avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, at the school; and
  • to ensure the selection of applicants for enrolment at the school is carried out in a fair and transparent manner; and
  • to enable the Secretary to make the best use of existing networks of State schools.

The proposed scheme would become effective on  14 October 2024 (Term 4). A copy of the proposed scheme is available below.

Why your views matter

As part of this process we are formally consulting with whānau, hāpu, iwi, and with all people living in the area for which the school is a reasonably convenient school. Please note, the enrolment scheme could affect which school a student will be entitled to enrol in.
