Manutuke School - consultation for application to change Year Levels

Overview

Manutuke School has applied to change from a Year 1-10 composite school to a Year 1-13 composite school. The Ministry is consulting on behalf of the Minister of Education with the boards of state schools whose rolls might be affected by this proposed change. This is a requirement of  section 209 of the Education and Training Act 2020.

Your views are valued so that the Minister of Education can make an informed decision about the proposed change of Year Levels for Manutuke School in the context of the network of schools in the Gisborne/ Tairawhiti area. 

After we receive comments from boards whose rolls might be affected, the Ministry will discuss any concerns raised with the applicant board.

What happens next

Following consultation with schools and kura whose rolls may be affected by the proposed change, the Ministry will prepare an education report for a decision by the Minister of Education.
