Myross Bush School - Minor Amendment

Closed 21 Sep 2023

Opened 24 Aug 2023

Overview

The Ministry of Education is proposing a minor amendment to the enrolment scheme of Myross Bush School.

Myross Bush School has an enrolment scheme which has been in place since 2003. The current Myross Bush School home zone map is drawn to road boundaries and needs to be updated to land parcel boundaries to more precisely identify the properties that fall within the home zone. This will allow more accurate identification of in-zone addresses, particularly when using online search tools.

This minor amendment will clarify the inclusion of Gillies Street which appears to be inside the current home zone map, but which was not included in the written description. The written description will also be updated to clarify boundaries and the enrolment scheme wording will be updated to reflect the Education and Training Act 2020.

Therefore, a minor amendment is required to clarify the home zone boundary of Myross Bush School – both as written and as drawn.

The proposed commencement date of the minor amendment is 29 January 2024 (Term 1).

The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.

Comments can be made to OtagoSouthland.EnrolmentSchemes@education.govt.nz by 21 September 2023.

Following the notification period, the Ministry will consider any comments received and the minor amendment will be finalised and approved.

What happens next

At the end of the notification period, the Ministry of Education will read any comments and process everything to ensure it meets the requirements of the Education and Training Act 2020. If the Ministry is satisfied that the enrolment scheme meets these requirements, the enrolment scheme will be finalised and provided to the Board.
