The Ministry of Education (the Ministry) regularly monitors enrolment patterns, population growth and anticipated school roll changes across the Tai Tokerau district as part of the requirements of The Education and Training Act 2020.
As part of this monitoring and review, the Ministry now consider an enrolment scheme is necessary for Tautoro School due to:

A key part of an enrolment scheme is the home zone.
The new enrolment scheme will have a home zone, like other schools with enrolment schemes in the area. Children that live within this area will have entitlement to enrol at Tautoro School.
Please note that all students who are already enrolled at Tautoro School before the enrolment scheme commences are entitled to stay at the school. Siblings of current students will have priority access to any out-of-zone places offered by the school.
Consultation will run until 15 December 2021. The Ministry will consider all feedback and conuslt with the Tautoro School Board before making a final decision. The school community will be updated about progress on the implementation of the enrolment scheme made on 1 March 2022. The new scheme and changes will come into effect for Term 2 2022 (2 May 2022) enrolments.
