West Rolleston Primary School - Minor Amendment

Closed 11 Oct 2023

Opened 11 Sep 2023

Overview

The Ministry of Education is proposing a minor amendment to the enrolment scheme of West Rolleston Primary School.

The home zone is a key part of the Enrolment Scheme and sets out a geographic area from within which students have a right to enrol at the school. Residential developments occuring on or near the home zone boundary have meant that the current written description and home zone map needs to be clarified to identify more accurately which addresses should be considered in-zone for West Rolleston Primary School.

This minor amendment clarifies that addresses on Clonbunny Close, Jim Hickey Way and Clonmel Lane are included in the home zone for West Rolleston Primary School, as well as addresses down to 60 Tiny Hill Drive. It will also clarify that addresses on Classic Lane are not included in the home zone (these addresses are in-zone for Clearview Primary). We will be doing a minor amendment for Clearview Primary at the same time to clarify these areas.

We also need to update the written description and map in the southern part of the zone due to the extension of Brenley Drive and to reflect new roading including Marcoola Drive, Hayshed Street, Crosado Place, and Harrison Drive. We are including a small overlap in this area with Lemonwood Grove School and will be doing a minor amendment for their school at the same time to clarify these areas.

The enrolment scheme wording will also be updated to reflect the Education and Training Act 2020.

The proposed commencement date of this minor amendment is 01 January 2024.
