This survey is to find out if you would like the Ministry of Education to approve an alternative constitution for Finlayson Park School.
Your school has a standard constitution as set out in section 119 of the Education and Training Act 2020 (the Act).
Your Board have contacted us to approve an alternative constitution so that the alternative constitution will ensure that the kaupapa of bilingual education is maintained and preserved.
The current Board constitution has been supporting the kaupapa of the bilingual education.
Under the proposed alternative constitution the makeup of the Board will change to:
a. The Principal of Finlayson Park School
b. One staff representative
c. Five parent elected parent representatives
d. Up to five representatives appointed by the Whinireihana Education Trust

It is important we hear from you on this proposal, as this proposed Board should represent the views of the community and your desires and aspirations for your children's education.
You have the right to have your say, and to understand how the new proposed Board structure will affect your school.
The feedback received from this survey will be collated and analysed for themes and whether the community agrees with the proposal for an alternative constitution or not (in the majority). This will contribute to a final decision from the Ministry to allow the Alternative Constitution or not.
