Principal role applicants questionnaire

Overview

Have you applied for a principal role since the start of 2022? Are you thinking of applying for one sometime soon? If so we need your insights and wisdom!

The Education and Training Act 2020 requires new eligibility criteria that anyone appointed as a principal in a Aotearoa state or state integrated school must meet. You can read more about what the Act says here. 

During 2022 draft “Principal Eligibility Criteria” (PEC) were developed and consulted on. Now we want to understand more about how PEC might impact peoples decisions to apply for principal roles. 

So, if you have applied for a role in the last year or are thinking about doing so in the near future, we really appreciate you reviewing the criteria and answering a few questions. This should take less than 10 minutes and your answers will provide valuable and critical information.
