Amendment to Rosebank and Warepa Schools Enrolment schemes

Closed 21 Sep 2023

Opened 24 Aug 2023

Overview

The Ministry of Education is currently working with the Boards of Rosebank School and Warepa School to make a minor amendment to their existing enrolment scheme.

Rosebank School

Rosebank School has had an enrolment scheme which has been in place since 2001.  The current Rosebank School home zone is drawn to road boundaries and needs to be updated to land parcel boundaries to more precisely identify the properties that fall within the home zone. This will allow more accurate identification of in-zone addresses, particularly when using online search tools.

This amendment will ensure there are no gaps between Rosebank and Warepa Schools and will clarify the inclusion of Guernsey Hill Road in Rosebank School’s home zone. The written description will also be updated to clarify boundaries and the enrolment scheme wording will be updated to reflect the Education and Training Act 2020.

Rosebank School

Warepa School

Warepa School has an enrolment scheme which has been in place since 2008. The current Warepa School home zone map is drawn to road boundaries and needs to be updated to land parcel boundaries to more precisely identify the properties that fall within the home zone. This will allow more accurate identification of in-zone addresses, particularly when using online search tools.

This amendment will ensure there are no gaps between Rosebank and Warepa Schools and will clarify the inclusion of Four Mile Creek Road to the north of the railway in Warepa School’s home zone. The written description will also be updated to clarify boundaries and the enrolment scheme wording will be updated to reflect the Education and Training Act 2020.

Warepa School

Therefore, an amendment is required to clarify Rosebank and Warepa School home zone boundary’s and to ensure there are no gaps between the two schools home zones – both as written and as drawn.

The proposed commencement date of the amendments is 29 January 2024 (Term 1).

The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.
